Bill Bailey - Participant

Bill Bailey is Vice President, Government Relations for The Walt Disney Company.  Bailey is responsible for advocating company positions and monitoring issues important to all aspects of the company.  Issues include, but are not limited to, cable and broadcast television, copyright, theme parks, cruise line, employment law, and tax. 

Prior to his present position, Bailey served in various private and public roles.  He was the lead advisor to then-Chairman John McCain on all telecommunications matters before the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.  Bailey also served as a senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Telecommunications in the Administration of President George W. Bush.  He served for four years at the Federal Communications Commission where he served as a legal advisor to Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth.  In the private sector, Bailey was Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, at XM Satellite Radio.  He was also Assistant General Counsel at CoreExpress, Inc. and NorthPoint Communications.  Bailey began his legal career at the law firm, Robins, Kaplan, Miller, and Ciresi. 

A native of Mclean, Virginia, Bill is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, James Madison University, and Bishop Denis J. O’Connell High School.  He is married to Erica Soderberg Bailey.  Bill and Erica have four children, Ellie, William, Colin, and Finn.  The Baileys live in Arlington, Virginia.
